As the summer holidays are rapidly approaching it is amazing to think that our Year 3 classes will soon be the oldest children of the school and in Year 4. In Geography, we have learnt about the Polish coastal city of Gdansk with its cobbled streets and impressive Basilica. We have used that information to help us to write our own Paddington adventure story about his travels in Gdansk. Knowing Paddington as we do, the children have really enjoyed thinking about the trouble and mishaps that Paddington can cause in this picturesque city.
In maths, we have been identifying and classifying shapes and drawing them accurately. We have noticed the difference between perpendicular, parallel, horizontal and vertical lines and
found where these lines occur in our classroom. We have continued our beach/holiday theme in art by drawing beach scenes using pencils and pastels. We have had to think carefully about the techniques we use to create different textures on the page to represent the sea, sand and sky. Year 3 have enjoyed a meeting with their new Year 4 teacher which gave them the
opportunity to ask questions and play icebreaker games. The children are looking forward to a celebration of arts and culture for their last full week of the summer term. Each class will be focusing on a different country and they will be completing arts and creative activity based around that theme.
The children are all ready for a break and are looking forward to new challenges in Year 4.
